Draconian - Munich

Lisa Johansson and Anders Jacobsson are once again sharing vocals on a Draconian album. Johansson rejoined the band back in 2022, and on "In Somnolent Ruin" she can now be heard on a new studio release for the first time since. With this eighth album, the Swedes come to the Backstage Halle on 26 February.

Since the mid-nineties, Draconian have been shaping their gothic doom from heavy riffs, solemn melodies and the interplay between clean vocals and deep growls. Their debut "Where Lovers Mourn" was released in 2003. The interplay of the two voices remains one of the defining elements of their music to this day.

"In Somnolent Ruin" was released on 8 May 2026 via Napalm Records. Its nine tracks lead through a dreamlike, melancholic atmosphere; among other things, the lyrics draw on Plato's ideas about the soul. Around six years separate the album from its predecessor "Under a Godless Veil".

The announced European tour covers sixteen cities. In Munich, Ann My Guard open the night before Saturnus, as special guests, add another perspective on doom metal. With a sound that is likewise shaped by melancholy and heavy guitars, they complement the headliner well.

For Rock'n'Pics, this night will produce concert photos and a report on all three performances.
