Fischer-Z were formed in London in 1976 by singer and songwriter John Watts. With "The Worker", "So Long" and the album "Red Skies Over Paradise" (1981), they became especially popular in continental Europe. Their sound combines new wave and post-punk with political and personal lyrics. For their 50th anniversary, the album “X-Ray Serenade” was released on 4 September 2026, featuring seven new songs and four reimagined classics.
